The players are seated in a circle. Number 1 holds two small objects such as a pocket knife and eversharp pencil. Number 1 passes the knife to number 2 saying “I pass you my puppy dog.” Number 2 says “Your WHAT!” and number 1 answers, “My Puppy Dog.” Number 2 then hands the knife to number 3 and the following conversation ensues:

A Socializer or Ice Breaker

Divide the group into teams. Leaders reads statements and the team calling out the most correct answers first, wins. The answer to each statement is in the form of some kind of cake.

Bought the newest version of Dreamweave, spent about an house learning how to configure a spry navigation bar using .css only to find out that Dreamweaver has decided not to support spry menus anymore. WTF?!?

Piedmont Springs

I was very fortunate to look at a 1911 advertising brochure from Piedmonts Springs yesterday. Piedmont Springs was a hotel and resort area near Danbury, NC and one of the three mineral springs resorts in the county. The other two were Moores Springs and Vade Mecum Springs. Here are a few of my favorite photographs out of the booklet.

New software to learn and lessons to plan

I visited 3 cool websites today that I want to share.
The first is the Savvy Intern’s post on what new software you should know. Obviously I am not an intern, but I found the article well written and a friendly reminder that I need to keep my skills updated.
The second website was the blog – The Blooming Palette. It is filled with cool lesson plans and nice wayst to pitch them to your students. I like how she goes into depth and introduces some of the conceptual things we need to think about when making an artwork.
Last is Randleman High School’s website and a very cool lesson on resist watercolor painting using rubber cement. Now if only I had gallons of the stuff I would do that too!
